Summer Holiday Events at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

25th July 2014

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre - first week of family activities a real success with more to come throughout the holidays.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre had a busy first week of the summer holidays with their family activities all booked up, children got the chance to make a house of sticks to see if it could stand the wolf’s huffing and puffing in the family activity aptly named ‘Three Little Pigs’. The children were then given a sweet treat toasting marshmallows on a campfire.

A different family activity will run each week, Tuesday – Friday, next week children between the ages of 3 and 11 will experience life two thousand years ago; light a fire to cook food, paint faces with woad and try out a slingshot.

Visitors to the Discovery Centre will also be able to have a go at shooting a few arrows next Wednesday 30th July 11am – 3pm, £2 a go. Bowman of Caradoc will bring all their archery kit inviting visitors to have a go at archery, they will also demonstrate how to shoot a longbow.

Booking for childrens activities is advisable (spaces are limited), just turn up for archery. Keep your eye on the website for further events in the coming weeks or call 01588 676060
